It is an important thing to see your kids becoming faithful and happy. A person could not really tell that this is just unimportant or it is just a matter of choice. Usually, old people could say that they really played a huge role in molding their kids into a good citizen. There could be times that faith of our youngsters is in an unclear situation; the older ones are the ones who can relate most to this matter. Though the practice of having a strong faith starts at home, but still in has to be nurtured in school as well. It is suggested to let your kids partake in any religious institution or avail free children’s church lessons.

It could not be too easy to just talk about faith and religion without the guide to do that. As much as teachers need their lesson plan as guide to progress their lessons, it is also a must that when teaching about faith, you follow a guide as well. The logic might still be a wonder or an unclear thing for most. If you are still in doubt about this whole thing, it would be nice if you will look at the reasons why pushing through with this is good.

First and foremost, it would be better if you would teach the kids the positive things that they need to know. For whatever ways of exercising your faith, the only thing there is that people are able to follow the right path of life. Definitely, once you told your kid not to start a fight with someone because that is against the will of God they would keep it in mind, but if you would stop telling them this thing while they are growing, they might forget this thing. However, if kids were being taught at home, in a religious institution and in a formal school, they might be guided well rather than just being guided by one institution. With this situation they could even understand deeper about these things. Even if you would allow kids for a Sunday school would greatly help.

Secondly, no need for anyone to worry about how much it cost for them if they allow their kids avail the free children’s church lessons. No need to spend money just to get the chance to know about this lesson. Just give a time in downloading the lesson and try to spend a time in reading them and understanding them and relate them to kids.

The ultimate reason is that these lessons are presented in such a way that kids would not feel bored or that religion is being taught to them along side science lessons. It would only create confusion if the approach would be like that. To be brutally honest about it, there are people who do not feel free to express their religious ideas and feelings because they feel that they are sounding ridiculous or that they are not cool. But then with these lessons, they are able to play and enjoy every minute that they spend on enriching their faith. The games, songs and fun ways of presenting each lesson are going to encourage children into practicing what they learn.

With the free children’s church lessons, one can say that everything is going to work simply well. Every adult has to encourage their children into attending to this kind of enriching activity so that they will grow up in faith.

Parents can engage their children in joining free children’s church lessons. In this way, the child can mold himself to be a good Christian follower and at the same time, be an obedient citizen of society. You can also try children’s church lesson activities.

Most Christians realize the power of prayer, although many Christians state they should pray more. Praying power is an amazing power and just getting into the habit of regular prayer is a power unto itself. By keeping a prayer journal, you may be encouraged to pray more and to pray often for certain people or for certain goals.

Praying Power

Thanking God for his blessings is a great way to exercise your praying power. While many of us save prayer for asking for things, mature Christians set aside prayer time to simply communicate with God and to thank Him for all that He has done for them. When we set aside time to simply communicate with God and not ask for anything in particular, it is a powerful improvement in our relationship with Him.

Some people believe that God and His Son communicate with us through His Word, the Bible, and that we communicate with the Father and Son through prayer. Others reserve prayer for petition, praying for health or wealth or whatever the need is at any given time. However, when you keep a prayer journal, you are reminded to expand your prayer life to include others besides yourself and you are reminded that prayer isn’t just about asking for things.

God wants us to spend time with him in prayer. Even Jesus prayed to God when he could have just spoken to him. Perhaps it was for our example that Jesus got away by himself to pray to the Father but if that is true, it is an example worth putting to good use.

Many times we may forget our previous prayers, therefore having a prayer journal is an excellent way to keep track of them and their progress. It really amazing to look back and see how our prayers were answered. Some people are even surprised months later to look at the things they prayed for. This frequently happens because as our prayer life improves, so does our maturity in the faith. Still, it is a great exercise to use to grow in our relationship with the Father and the Son.

Christian comedian, Keith Deltano, performs challenging and serious comedy. Keith uses comedy to promote Christian apologetics, and sexual abstinence, fight racism and prejudice and simplify Christmas. These are tough and sometimes controversial topics that few would associate with the squeaky clean Christian comedy movement.

Christian comedy was once considered an oddity; it is now a vibrant and mainstream movement. Keith is glad that Christian comedy has taken off, but he doesn’t want Christian comedy to simply become “clean comedy in a church”. Keith says, “Christian comedy should be more than doing clean comedy in a Christian setting. To me, Christian comedy should have a purpose or message within it,” Keith continues, “That may make me ‘extreme’ but I don’t care. If I’m going to spend time away form my family, sleeping in a hotel, and eating at Waffle House, I want to do more than make people laugh; I want to have a life changing impact.”

Keith believes Christian comedy is the perfect tool to use when confronting popular culture. For example, Keith’s show, “The New Sexual Revolution” deals with teen risk taking and sexual behavior. Keith says, “This show promotes resisting sexual pressure as well as analyzing popular culture. Teens need to understand that they live in a sex saturated culture because sex sells, sex moves products. What they see in, ‘The Secret life of the American Teenager’, MTV, VH1 and other teen targeted media glamorizes teen pregnancy and teen sex. It may seem odd, but I use comedy to help them see how ridiculous and unrealistic the media’s glorification of teen sex actually is. Think about it,” Keith says, “Do you ever see some hot young stud change a stinky diaper on MTV?” Keith believes using Christian Comedy to critique popular culture is effective because comedy reaches past gender, age and demographics.

Keith says, “It doesn’t’ matter to me weather I’m billed as a Christian comedian or Christian youth speaker, I’m going to deal with a cultural issues” Keith’s show, “The Redneck Was Right” uses comedy and storytelling to attack prejudice and racist attitudes. Keith tells the true story of how he met his first Southerner while going through US Army jump school. Through the comedy Keith challenges the youth and adults in the audience to seriously contemplate how they look at one another. Keith uses laughter to promote acceptance, making new friends by reaching out, and God’s desire that we not judge one another by outward appearance, speech, or economic status. Keith says, “Many churches use this as a church outreach event because it is appropriate for all ages and is about acceptance and making new friends by reaching out.”

Keith even has show on “Christian apologetics”, the reasoned defense of faith. Keith wades into the whole “intelligent design” argument with comedy and science. Keith says” Christian apologetic reasoning is scientific, thematic, and statistical, not what the average audience expects in a Christian comedy show. What I do is take a few key apologetic concepts and use comedy to bring them alive. Take the big bang: science tells us that the whole universe expanded from a piece of matter smaller than a pinhead, they can’t tell us where that piece of mater came form or what caused it to expand, actually, science can’t tell us anything about the origin of the bang. Yet, the very same scientific community tells as that the Law of Conservation, which states matter and energy can not be created or destroyed, is an immutable fact. So, on the one hand we are told the big band just happened and the universe came form nothing, on the other we are told something can never come form nothing. As a comedian, I find that contradiction humorous, as a youth speaker, I use comedy to illustrate that contradiction.

Keith has been an award winning middle school teacher, youth leader, youth speaker, private counselor and Christian comedian. He is a winner of the “Teaching Excellence Award” and was awarded the “National Impact Award” from the Abstinence Clearinghouse. The Christian Comedy Association called his comedy CD “The Best Topic Driven CD”.

Keith says, “I named my web site “Defy Conformity” because all my comedy is about not running with the crowd, not conforming to what is considered “normal”. I want people to question the popular culture we are surrounded with. Whether I’m doing a show on apologetics, sex and drug resistance, for teens or performing at a Christmas banquet for adults, I’m trying to get my audience to recognize unhealthy behaviors and change them. Keith Deltano: it’s not just Christian comedy, its Christian comedy with teeth.

Keith Deltano is one of the most sought after and high energychristian youth speakers serving teens and youth groups today. He also performs for general audiences as an high energyChristian comedian .

The story of David and Goliath found in the Bible is probably one of the most well-known and often-told stories from the Old Testament. It carries with it a wonderful lesson - that no problem is too big in the eyes of God. If we see everything in the same perspective as God, huge problems and situations that seem impossible can be seen more clearly. We can deal with them more effectively, especially with God on our side.

According to the Bible, Goliath was a member of the Philistine army that was waging war against the Israelites. He was over 9 feet tall and was clad in armor from head to foot. The Israelites were terrified of Goliath and none would fight him. Meanwhile he continued to mock Saul, the King of Israel, and his men, daring them to fight him.

While no “man” would fight Goliath, a young shepherd named David shook off his fear and doubt. With only a sling, a bag full of stones, and his faith in God, David confronted Goliath while shouting, “I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty.” Before Goliath could strike a blow, David pulled out his sling and struck Goliath in the forehead through the smallest of openings in his armor. Goliath dropped to the ground and was dead.

Tales from the bible are often the source of interest to scientists seeking to find the truth or fiction in them. This story is one that has fascinated them for years. Physicians have suggested that Goliath was actually a man afflicted with a disease called acromelagy or “gigantism”. The pituitary gland in people who suffer from this disease releases excess amounts of growth hormones, causing them to become unusually tall. If this theory were true, Goliath would probably have succumbed to this disease at any time.

But why was David so easily able to sneak up on the giant in order to kill him? Scientists explain this by saying that a side effect of gigantism is partial blindness or tunnel vision. The secretion of excess growth hormones by the pituitary gland is normally caused by the formation of a tumor. This tumor could have compressed the giant’s optic chiasm, the part of the brain where the optic nerves cross. With impaired sight and no peripheral vision, David could easily have gotten close enough to Goliath to get off the fatal shot.

Skeptics also question how one small stone could cause the death of the huge man. They suggest that David’s stone hit directly on the tumor, bursting it and causing it bleed enough for the blow to be deadly.

Even if Goliath’s size was a direct result of gigantism, this should not take away from the David’s bravery and faith in the face of danger. Neither the Philistines, the Israelites, nor the young shepherd David understood why Goliath was such a giant. The lesson still holds that God can make anything possible if you have faith.

For a number of reasons, not the least of which is the Middle East crisis, there has recently been an upswing in interest in the matter of the Rapture of the Church.

Since 1948 when Israel regained its status as a Nation, the world has been anticipating events in the region to see if as many anticipated, we would see prophetic fulfillment unfolding or not, the latter situation resulting in loss of confidence in the validity if the Holy scriptures.

What is involved in the Rapture of the Church?

It is a major event predicted to take place at the second coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. This ‘rapture’ is a physical event in which those people that are today (or were before they died if they have already passed) believers in Jesus Christ (Yashuah Ha Maschiach - the Hebrew name of Christ)

will actually be transported up into the sky to meet with the Lord just before His return to the earth where He will set up His Millennial Kingdom over which He is going to rule and reign for 1000 years.

Why so much discord over the rapture question? The concept of the rapture is one that is readily embraced by the majority if believers. After all, the Bible specifically describes it. The disagreement comes over the timing of the event1

The Great Tribulation

So this is where the disconnect comes. The Bible describes in the book of Revelation this terrible time called “The Great tribulation” when God pours out His wrath upon the earth to punish the impurity of those that just refuse to hear His voice.

It is taught in some churches that two thirds of the worlds population will be eliminated during this time and the rapture is supposed to save all of the Christians so that they are not subject to the trials. The belief is that Jesus the Messiah removes them all out of harms way before the trouble starts. People subscribing to this theory are referred to a pre trib thinkers.

Then there are those that teach that all Christians will be present for half of the 7 years of the Great tribulation. Their position is that a period of great turmoil will start. That for 3 and half years there will be severe calamities, strife, unprecedented problems culminating in the emergence of a pseudo savior, the anti-messiah (Anti-Christ) who will deceive the world into believing that He is their savior, uniting the world under one banner and bringing peace to all. These mid-trib thinkers believe that it is just before this point when all of the Christians are effectively lifted out to safety as all “hell breaks loose” on the earth for the final 3 and half year episode of the Tribulation.

Finally, there is the least popular of the three propositions, the post trib stance. Adherents to this theory teach that the Christians have to wait until the end of the 7 years for the rapture. So, they get to suffer through the whole thing with everyone else. The supporters of each of these positions can make very convincing arguments for their cases and they all appear to have substance. Even to the degree that they can find scriptures which appear to confirm their belief that they are in fact right. It is a most interesting debate.

But what DOES God say about the rapture of the church?

I submit to you that this after all is the only definitive opinion you should be concerned about. The Lord exhorts us to “study to shew yourself approved” (2Tim 2:15)

There is a common trap to be avoided, that of being complacent, don’t rely on what other people interpret for you. The Lord Himself recently gave me a wonderful teaching regarding the perils of being complacent which you may well find enlightening.

What should you know about the church’s rapture?

My personal conviction is that there exists a deliberate vagueness as the issue is simply an “invitation” to consider a deeper issue of greater importance. The role an individual may or may not play in the coming Kingdom.

This author prays that from reading these words about the rapture , you will find yourself propelled into the exhilarating discovery of the hidden truths in God’s word concerning the soon to be established Kingdom (closer than most can perceive)

During a man’s lifetime, he’s called upon to follow the 10 Commandments in order to avoid being the slave of sin. However, would it be enough to say that by following these Commandments, is this man saved and can he enter the Kingdom of Heaven?

First of all, the Commandments are simply ten solid commands that are unified under one entire strict law of God. Meaning, to break even just one of these commandments is to already have violated the entire law of God.

This is made clear in James, Chapter two, verses ten and eleven, wherein it clearly states that any person who keeps the whole law and then breaks one of these points, this person shall be found guilty of all. Seeing this in this light, the question that remains is, why did God even give people these Commandments in the first place?

The Commandments were revealed to the people because they were unable to recognize their own sins for what they were. God simply wanted to point out that people are already condemned sinners, and that no works of any kind can save mankind as they are already sinners even from the time of Adam.

Therefore, it is a fact that adhering to these 10 Commandments does not and never will save a person from being condemned. These were provided to mankind in order to reveal to him those acts which were sinful and which he most likely had already committed, making him unworthy for the Kingdom of Heaven.

The 10 Commandments are to be followed through life as a way of avoiding even further sin, yet these are not the only steps that a man should take to ensure his entry into the Kingdom of God. He can only save himself from his already condemned status by total acceptance of God’s Only Son, Jesus Christ, into his life as his Savior.

The idea of wisdom is generally based on the understanding of the why and how. Beliefs about it vary between different people and different cultures. Most of it comes from watching and learning from others as well as ones own life experiences. In order to make appropriate choices, one must look at perceptions and knowledge about people, things, and life itself.

The ancient Greeks referred to wisdom as a virtue. This virtue is synonymous with insight. In order to make a wise decision, one must be able to discern reason from emotions. Good decisions are attributed to the void of emotion and utilizing reason as the sole tool in making smart choices. Steady insight rather than a whirlwind of emotion is the basis of good choices.

Sometimes situations arise and all the facts needed to make a wise decision are available. A smart person would be able to take the facts at hand, how little there may be, and come up with a solution. Aristotle thought that understanding why and how things exist was helpful in these situations. It was like putting a puzzle together.

Freethinkers, on the other hand, believed that intuition played a large part in the development of this virtue. They also attributed spirituality to it as well. But like Aristotle, Freethinkers also understood that life experience and reason were the basis of it all.

Today, colleges and universities are considered the place where one gains intellect. Concepts are taught and in conjunction with life experience, one may become all the wiser. This is also done by comparing and contrasting what one has learned to experience and prior knowledge. A smart individual will be able to survey all of the option and make the best choice.

When hearing the words wise, they are often correlated to age. It is assumed that a long life means a lot of experience but that is not necessarily true in all cases. It must be taken into consideration the richness ones life and what they were exposed to. A 20 year old man could possibly experience a lot more of life than a 40 year old man and be considered the wiser of the two.

Wisdom and intellect are very closely related. It is a combination of experience, knowledge, perception, insight, and reason. The driving force behind making wise choices is to ensure that the decision being made is for the betterment of a situation.

It’s no surprise to many people that the world has become so corrupt that the Lord will soon have to judge the the evil that has taken over this world. The signs are as clear as the nose on your face.

One of the signs that precedes the fall of a nation is that sexual immorality and perversion becomes dominant in society and the governments of those societies protect that kind of behavior and tends to punish those who would dare to speak against it. There are constant attempts to remove God from every aspect of human society. Soon these societies and governments becomes so corrupt that they eventually collapses under the weight of their own immorality.

Another sign is that science has proven that adult stem cells have been very helpful in coming up with treatments for many diseases while embryonic stem cells have not produced one new treatment. Yet many blood thirsty individuals still demand the harvesting and destruction of these human embryos. And what about fetuses. Most abortion advocates now openly admit that a fetus is a human being, a baby, and that abortion is killing that human being. But they still seek more and more funding for more and more abortions.

Still another sign is that, in this age of scientific enlightenment there is no doubt that this earth and the universe were created and did not come into existence by the process of evolution, the “big bang”. Yet many still believe in evolution either because they are ignorant of the facts, or as many have already admitted, the only alternative is to believe in a creator God, and they just simply cannot except that.

Many Christian appear to still be asleep and don’t realize how fast evil is taking over. What’s even more depressing is that these people who are blessed to be living in countries that have elections and who call themselves Christians, keep electing politicians who promote evolution, sexual perversion, abortion and embryonic stem cell research.

Good News . . . There is Still Hope!

There is massive deception going on. Governments, news organizations, schools and the entertainment industries have seem to have all teamed up to help deceive the masses. But we must become informed and above all, seek the Lord our God and admit our sins and ask for the forgiveness He gives through the death, burial and resurrection of His Son, Christ Jesus. The scriptures says “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” II Chronicles 7:14.

For more information on receiving God’s pardon through His Son, Christ Jesus, see our post entitled “Who is Christ Jesus?”

Even though we know “by their fruits” that some people will not make it to heaven, and based on what scripture says,
I think we still have to say that yes, Christ Jesus did die for the sins of everyone. We know from scripture that John the Baptist pointed out Christ Jesus and said “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). In Galatians we find “Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: (Galatians 1:4). And the Epistle of John says “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world” (1 John 2:2).

To me these scriptures are saying that God made it possible for all to be saved by giving His One and Only Son, Christ Jesus, to pay the price for our sins. I believe that the reason some people won’t be saved is because they deliberately reject God’s offer of forgiveness. Even though Christ Jesus died for the sins of the world, everyone has the responsibility to accept God’s offer by faith.

Even those who have never heard of God’s free gift of forgiveness and eternal life, to these people God has given them a certain amount of light. If these people respond to that light, God will give them more light. Eventually they too can be saved. Those who don’t respond to that light have no excuse. Likewise, those who have heard the gospel but do not respond, have no excuse. So if you have not already, why not ask God for forgiveness today while you still have breath, before it’s too late.

Some believe that politics is a dirty business and those who believe in Christ Jesus should not vote and stay out of it. Others believe that Christians should get registered to vote and be involved. Which is the best way to go? The question is, “If Christians stay out of politics, who will run the government?” The answer is obvious, non Christians would be in complete control of the government. This writer believes that if God has blessed Christians by letting them be citizens in a country that allows them to participate in government by voting, then it’s the Christian’s duty to vote.

But there seems to be a big problem with many Christian voters. They are either not well informed or they have laid aside their Christian values at the voting booth. I have personally witnessed people who call themselves Christian, proudly admit that they were going to vote for someone who is diametrically opposed to Christian principles. How can voting for such a person preserve society. This kind of reckless voting will only add to society’s quick decay. Christians are to be the salt and light of the world, in the world but not of the world.

Christians must get informed. With the age of the Internet, there is no excuse for not fully examining the record of those running for office. Many of these politician’s world view and ideology was fully exposed in alternative media sources before the elections. Don’t expect to get the truth from the so called “main stream” media. Do your own investigations. Those who have Internet access can share information with those who don’t. Find out the truth about these people. Christians cannot afford to vote for people because of the color of their skin or because they are charismatic, well spoken, and nice looking. Christians must vote for individuals based on their character, world view and ideology. If they don’t line up with the Christian ideology and world view, that candidate should be rejected.

Sometimes there is not a good selection of candidates. In this case we have to pick the lessor of the two evils. But we must approach each election by being well informed and asking God for guidance. We must not believe that getting involved with politics is going to help bring in God’s kingdom. Only preaching the gospel can change the hearts of the masses. But Christians can help to preserve the culture until Christ Jesus returns.
