Japan Earthquake - Bible Prophecy Unfolding

Earthquake In Japan

Earthquake In Japan

The recent earthquake in Japan was the most powerful ever recorded in that country.  It caused a lot of devastation and death to that region.  Let us remember in our prayers the people who suffered loss and loved ones and also let us help out as much as we can.

Scripture tells us that earthquakes are one of the signs that judgment is coming to the earth.  These scriptures tell us that earthquakes are like labor pains because they happen more and more frequently.  The interval of time between the earthquakes are shorter and shorter.  And as they happen more frequently, their intensity also increases.  Finally, when the baby is due to be born, the labor pains are almost constant.  Likewise, when judgment comes, earthquakes will be very close together.

Scripture also says that when Russia and a confederate of Muslim nations launch an all out attack on Israel, there will be an earthquake that is so powerful that the whole earth will feel it.  It will be the worst earthquake that the world has ever experienced.  God will then destroy these invaders in the mountains of Israel and by doing so, He will make Himself known to all the nations of the world.

But Cheer up!  There is hope.  You don’t have to experience the judgment of God.  You can experience God’s pardon from all of your sins, past present and future.  If you have not yet received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you can do so now.  Take a look at God’s Simple Plan of Salvation.

The tsunami that occurred in Japan, reminded me of a movie called the day after tomorrow………

The Japan situation is terrible, but imagine the Tsunami had hit Tokyo or Yokohama? Things would have been so much worse.

    Seriously?

Do you have any data to support that earthquakes are occurring more frequently? Before the internet stories like this would get much less coverage and tended to fizzle out before people heard about them. Also anyone who understands tectonics will tell you it’s damn near impossible to have a global earthquake. So does that mean the judgment day will never come?

..there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. …And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

    Hi Andy,

Thank you for your comment. There are many sources on the Internet that have this information. One source is http://www.earth.webecs.co.uk/ .

As far as tectonics, I’m sure the creator of those plates in the earth won’t have any problem making an earthquake be felt around the world. Our God is an awesome God.

Earthquake frequency is only one of the signs that judgment is coming. The hatred and eventual invasion of Israel by several nations is another sign. The turmoil that’s going on in the middle east could very well be a prelude to that event. See our post “Crisis in Egypt - Bible Prophecy Unfolding“.

Judgement is indeed coming. With regard to this statement, “You don’t have to experience the judgment of God. You can experience God’s pardon from all of your sins, past present and future.” Are you saying that a person can continue to commit sin and still be saved?

Thank you for your comment. A person who has truly received God’s pardon through the shed blood of Jesus, no longer wants to sin but will strive to not sin. However, the sinful nature still is present and a believer will still sin from time to time. “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” 1 John 1: 8-10. (KJV)

On the other hand, if a person continues to live a lifestyle of sin, there is doubt whether that this person is really saved.

Andy, type in a search engine earthquakes and there will be a spot that literally says earthquakes today. This sight tells you the earthquakes that have happened in the last seven days and keeps a daily tab, so yes, there is evidence. There is also evidence in revolations that everything that is happening is happening just as it says in the bible, which is the most prophetic book ever written. We’ve had 30 earthquakes just today, the seventh of April. You may also want to research, in revelations where it clearly talks about the animals and fish in the sea dying at the end. Just ask God for fogiveness for your sins accept him as your father and Jesus as your brother and treat your fellow brother and sister with respect….have faith. And for all of the geniuses that have done everything to disprove God and Satan and Heaven and Hell to prove their is no after life, anyone who wants to believe there is nothing after you die or that you may be reincarnated, even if that was true, and it’s not i think shooting for the pie in the sky, Heaven is a much smarter route to go than the other options. I’ll pray for you and hope to see you in heaven. It won’t be long.

Yes Donna, there is all kinds of evidence that what’s going on in the world today has been prophesied in the scriptures. God gives everyone a warning so that people can escape the judgment that is coming on the earth. Just believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. Have faith that Jesus paid the price for your sins by dying a horrible death on the cross and then rose from the dead to prove that He was and is indeed the Son of the living God.

earthquakes are indeed happening with great frequency. they always have in certain places where the earth is more prone to them than other places, e.g., the Andes Fault. But there is no evidence that earthquakes of the magnitude as in Haiti or Japan are happening with increased frequency. In fact, there were more significant earthquakes (at least a magnitude of 3.5) in 1990 (14) than this year (12) and last year (10). see http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eqarchives/year/

To say that the amount of earthquakes is aberrantly increasing is ridiculous. They are happening at the same frequency they always have, and unfortunately, will continue to happen.

    Hi Luis,

Most earthquake data only go back to around 1900 and therefore don’t give an accurate account of earthquake frequency since the earth has been in existence. As with labor pains, it is not necessary for each pain to be greater than the previous one. But we still all know that overall, the pains are increasing in frequency and intensity. I for one choose to believe the scriptures.
